Protecting your Computer

This subject is so important and I still find people who have not taken all the important steps that one should to protect their computer.

Here is a powerpoint that was created by a Librarian to guide the people he works through what is involved in protecting their computer.

I thought this had some valuable information here and some really good links to other resources.

Internet Explorer updated to version 7

Internet Explorer version 7 (or IE7) is being released now. According this this article:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/automaticupdates/ those of us who have Microsoft's "automatic updates" turned on as recommended, will be receiving it automatically.

I am always eager to try a new program but there are reports that it won't work with some programs and websites that I use regularly. I am interesting in hearing from anyone's experiences with this new version.

Here are some more comments about this new version for those interested:

Of course, there is always Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ or one of the other alternative browsers if IE7 has problems.
